I planted a butterfly bush last Spring, It had flowers all last summer on it. This year it does not have any flowers or buds on it, but the bush looks very healthy.

Do you know what the problem might be?

It's hard to be patient, but it is still a bit early for butterfly bushes to be blooming for this season. Since it seems healthy it will probably start blooming in a few weeks when the weather turns hot. These plants bloom on new growth of the season so be sure not to prune it during the summer -- just give it that initial cutback in mid spring and then sit back and wait for the show to begin. Enjoy!
