i purchased two of the above plants one week ago and planted them in the same location , one is doing well the other the roses shrivel up and stay that way all day, then in the morning the roses plump up again..only to shrivel up again.

Since you just purchased the plants, I think you might want to consult right away with the nursery where you purchased them as to what is happening to cause the wilting. Generally this would be a sign of moisture stress, but since the other plant is fine then perhaps there is some other problem at work. Alternatively you might also want to consult with your county extension to see if they can help you with a more specific diagnosis of the problem and suggest what steps to take next. In the meantime, when you water it, water enough tot keep it evenly moist but not sopping wet. Make sure the water is soaking into the root ball and moistening the original potting mix as well as the surrounding soil. I'm sorry you are having trouble with your new rose.
