Its new growth in spring is bright red, and it turns brilliant red again in the fall. Crimson Queen bronzes and may even turn greenish during the course of the summer if grown in less than full sun; also there is some natural variation from plant to plant with the growing conditions and the season in terms of how long the bright spring red lasts. So I think what you are seeing is probably normal.
