I have a Merritt's Beauty- Macrophylla Hydrangea, will it survive being on the East side of a home with mid to late afternoon sunshine (3:00-7:00pm)? It has all AM shade. I am concerned about the heat in the afternoon on it. Thank you. |
Hydrangeas tend to wilt in hot afternoon sunshine, even when the soil is moist. It's just their way of trying to avoid dehydration. Your plant will be happier with morning sun and afternoon shade, but will survive afternoon sunshine, if you don't mind seeing it wilt. If you can find another spot, your hydrangea will thank you. |
