I am in Zone 5 and would like a grayish leaf low specimen shrub on each side of the beginning of my walkway. I would like it to flower. What do you suggest?

The only short shrub I can think of with a gray leaf and flowers would be Caryopteris or Blue-mist flower. It is a cutback shrub, meaning it dies back in the winter or is trimmed off short each spring, then regrows quickly and blooms during the summer over a long period of time. It reaches between two and three feet tall and wide, the flowers are a delightful shade of blue.
