I have a 20ft. x 15ft. arbor in my backyard that receives full sun. I would like to cover it with an evergreen vine that also provides bloom color. Can you recommend a plant that will fill this space without overrunning the allotted area by too much? Can I get away with growing and Akebia vine in my zone? I really like the smaller leaf size as well as their lighter green color. I'd appreciate any input you have!
Sincerest thanks,
Vlad

Some very nice choices for the site you describe include Akebia, evergreen Clematis (Clematis armandii), Herald's Trumpet (Beaumontia grandiflora), Crossvine (Bignonia capreolata), Bougainvillea, Clytostoma (Violet Trumpet Vine), Lace Vine (Fallopia baldschuanica), Guinea Gold Vine (Hibbertia scandens), honeysuckle (Lonicera), and Millettia reticulata (evergreen wisteria). The above list includes an array of leaf shape, size and color, and all the vines produce seasonal bloom. Hope you find just the right vine for your trellis!
