When is the best time to prune Waxleaf Privet? The blooms are just starting to appear now and how long do they normally last. Thanks.

The flowers on your waxleaf privet should last about 3 weeks. You can wait until the flowers fade before pruning your shrubs, or you can prune now and cut the flowers off (some people find they produce an unpleasant scent). Either way, your privet will rebound with brand new growth a few weeks after being pruned.
