The Q&A Archives: Size Of Different Types Of Magnolia

Question: i bought two different types of magnolia. One is Chinese magnolia the pink color type and the other one is Elizabeth magnolia the rare yellow type. I have 2 spaces in my back yard, one is small and the other space is bigger. I would like to find out the mature size of two different magnolia so that I can plant accordingly.

Answer: Your Elizabeth Magnolia will mature into a pyramidal shape, reaching 25'-30' tall and 12'-15' wide. The Oriental type magnolias are much larger, reaching 40'-60' in height and 30'-40' in width at maturity. Give your Chinese magnolia plenty of elbow room and place your Elizabeth magnolia in the smaller site. Enjoy!
