The Q&A Archives: Scented Iris

Question: A friend of mine has in her garden a type of iris that smells something like grape Kool-Aid or grape candy. None of my irises are as nicely scented. Can you help name that variety, so that we all know and can be on the look out for it? Thanks.

Answer: Iris pallida is the bearded iris with the grape-like fragrance. It's sometimes called the dalmatian iris. Enjoy!
