I have 3 day lillies and am having a hard time making them flower. They receive sun all day. I fertilize regularly and have split them once in 5 years to try to promote blossoms.

Daylilies (Hemerocallis) do best with plenty of sun all day long and also bloom better with rich soil and an evenly moist soil. Water deeply during dry spells and use an organic mulch to help keep the soil more evenly moist. In terms of fertilizing, you would need to run some basic soil tests to see if anything is extremely low, but typically an all purpose complete fertilizer such as 5-10-5 is adequate. read and follow the label instructions for how much to use. You might also try dividing them about every third year to keep the plants vigorous. If you are growing one of the reblooming types, you might try dividing every other year and watering even more generously. Finally, some varieties bloom better than others, so this might account for some of the problem. I hope this helps.
