The Q&A Archives: Will Ficus Retusa Nitida (indian Laurel) Grow In My Area?

Question: I would like to know if Ficus Retusa Nidita will grow well
in my area. Healdsburg, CA is Zone 13-14. I would like to
purchase 8 or 9 as screening trees but do not want to invest
the money if they will not survive the "winter".

Thank you.

Answer: Ficus retusa will grow well in your mild-winter climate. It's hardy to 25F, although it will suffer some leaf damage at temperatures of 28F. These lows would be quite rare in your gardening region, but they could happen!
