The Q&A Archives: Are Crape Myrtles Deer Resistence

Question: Are Crape Myrtles deer resistent? I see them in heavily deer populated areas.

Answer: Crape Myrtles are not on any deer resistant lists that I can find - perhaps they're not a favorite, but could be nibbled on if nothing else in the garden looks appetizing. For fool-proof deer resistant plants, try growing native plants. They're so common in the wild that deer tend to ignore them in favor of expensive exotics found in gardens. Enjoy your garden!
