| I have a Trumpet Creeper bought two years ago. It never made a flower so this spring I changed its location. It has a glorious bushness, the leaves are healthy and growing everywhere but not one flower. What does this plant need? |
| Trumpet creeper or Campsis radicans can sometimes bloom the first year, but sometimes it just takes some time for no apparent reason. It does best in full sun, and since it blooms on new wood of the season it can be pruned hard in late winter to try to stimulate vigorous new growth. The only caution would be to avoid overfertilizing it since this can sometimes cause excess foliage to grow at the expense of flowers. Unfortunately, all I can suggest is patience. Maybe this will be the year it blooms for you! |
