| New varieties of turfgrass are being developed all the time. If you purchased the plants locally, you can expect that they'll grow in your area - nurseries have reputations to uphold! Just like most flowering plants, grasses develop seedheads.If you don't mow the grass, you'll see it flower and set seed. Sometimes this happens accidentally and grass appears where it was never planted. Birds and wind can transport seeds, too. Here's a great site to visit, sponsored by the University of Hawaii.
