Looking for a nice, exotic japanese shrub for a privacy hedge: Any suggestions?

If you're interested in developing a landscape with a Japanese Garden theme, the following plants are often used (although none are specifically thought of as being exotic). The main consideration is finding something that will grow in your climate and still produce a Japanese Garden effect. Try one of the following suggestions for your privacy hedge:
Aucuba japonica, Pieris japonica, Gardenia jasminoides, Camellia japonica, Nandina domestica, Ligustrum japonicum,
or Abelia grandiflora.
