The Q&A Archives: Planting Month

Question: When should I plant Ivory Halo dogwoods in Ohio? Is it too late this year?

Answer: This shrub dogwood or Cornus alba can be planted almost any time of year if it is container grown. Bare root plants would be planted only in spring when they are available. Typically, it is best to avoid planting in the heat of mid to late summer if possible, with early spring and fall being preferable times to plant.
