Very few trees will grow in total shade, so your choice is limited to Alnus cordata (Italian alder), Acer circinatum (vine maple), Acer palmatum (Japanese maple), or Cornus kousa (dogwood). Of these, the dogwood produces spring flowers, and all are deciduous (lose their leaves during the winter months). Hope the above information is helpful!
