I would like to know which Bougainvillea variety adapts itself best to being a shrub -- not a climbing vine. The dimensions for final growing would be 6ft x 4ft.

Thank you.

Most bougainvilleas are climbing vines, but a few will grow as shrubs, providing you pinch and prune them back during the growing season to help them maintain their shape. Those most likely to grow into spreading, mounding shrubs include 'Brilliant Variegated', 'Crimson Jewel', 'La Jolla', 'Oo-La-La' and 'Rosenka'.
