| The location I was planning on using this Nandina would get full morning to mid day sun for at least 6 months out of the year, but be in full to partial shade for the rest. They will be 20' north of a 3 story building in Dominguez hills. Your bio on the plant says it need full sun, while most other Nandinas will also take shade. Is this sun requirement for color, or will the plant not do well. We were planning to have a massing of them in a 15'x7' planter at 2' o.c. Thanks for you help with my question. |
| Nandina domestica 'Fire Power' will adapt to various sun exposures, but they do appreciate some protection from afternoon sunshine in hot summer areas (such as in central California). In your reasonably mild climate it will grow in full sunshine to partial shade. The site you describe should be just fine for your nandina. Plant it and enjoy! |
