I live in Altadena (north of Pasadena) and am wondering if Prunus serrulata will grow in our heat?

There are many varieties of Prunus serrulata and all will grow well in your area. Flowering cherries may be slow to bloom in mild winter areas such as yours, but they will bloom, and the trees will thrive if given fast-draining, well-aerated soils.
