How far from a blue girl holly is the maximum distance for the blue boy holly to still be able to pollinate the girl?

Since these are pollinated by insects, they need to be within flight distance. In commercial holly orchards where berries are raised for cutting, the rule of thumb is to interplant one male per twenty females and to have them within at least 100 yards of the bee colony and each other. So, the closer the better, certainly, but anywhere in the general proximity of a home landscape is usually fine.
