The Q&A Archives: Bush With Purple Cluster Of Berries

Question: I have found a shrub in a supermarket parking lot that is just beautiful... It is the size of a large hidranger.right now it has bead like clusters of purple ..can you help me with a name.............thank you....

Answer: There are several shrubs that could meet that description, including some viburnums that would have berries now, in September. In my opinion, however, the most impressive looking and bead-like purple berries grow on Callicarpa. The plant size is about right, too. There is a photo at the following url.
