What does it mean when my hydrangea bush leaves are turning brown and curling on the edges?

Hydrangeas are deciduous, meaning they lose their leaves at the end of the summer season. I suspect your hydrangea is just going through the normal process of losing its leaves. If the crispy edges developed in the spring or early summer, I'd consider over/under watering or too much fertilizer to be the problem. But in the autumn, I suspect your shrub is just acting naturally.
