I have a backyard spot which gets plenty of sun and moderate water from sprinklers.
I want to plant dwarf cavendish banana trees(3) but am concerned that even my mild weather in the winter may kill these plants.
Should I be concerned?
Thanks

Members of the banana family (Musa and Ensete) are shrubs that eventually develop trunk-like stems. They're tropical in nature but can stand freezing weather for short periods of time. The leaves will be damaged by frost and some of the plants may die all the way down to the ground in a hard freeze, but the roots will remain alive and will send up new shoots the following spring. Banana trees are usually quite successful in your mild winter gardening region.
