Can edible peas, such as sugar snap climbers be grown grown next to flowering sweet peas, in the same small garden, and would the snap peas be safe to eat?

As long as you know which pea pods you're picking, you'll be safe. Snap peas usually mature before sweet peas, and the pods look slightly different, but you should probably label each plant and keep them from intermingling, just to make sure no one accidentally samples the wrong pod.

The flavor of snap peas should not be affected by the sweet peas.
