The Q&A Archives: Caladium

Question: Are these perennials in my area and how do I prepare them for winter so they come back in the spring?

Answer: Caladiums are native to the tropics where temperatures rarely drop below 60F. If frost is likely, dig the tubers and store them in dry peat moss at temperatures of 50F - 60F. Replant in the spring when nighttime temperatures remain above 60F.
