Visiting your website I found a selection of peonies. When I visited my local Nursery (Armstrong on Wilshire) I was told that they won't do well in my area and that they don't carry them for that reason.

The spot I'm considering is the front of our house with a western exposure. We live two blocks west of Century City and east of Overland Blvd.

I would appreciate your advice.

Thank you,

Peonies do not perform well in mild-winter climates. They require a pronounced winter chill in order to produce blossoms, something your southern California gardening region cannot deliver. As beautiful and desireable as they are, peonies will be a big disappointment if you plant them in your Los Angeles garden!
