| As with any large tree, there is a potential for damage to sidewalks that are too close by since the base or trunk flare of the tree expands along with the roots and the roots must pass under the sidewalk or the tree will be stunted. You might wish to check with your street tree commission and see if they have a recommended list for tree planting. |
