I am moving to a senior mobile home park with a dark, damp area to plant. What can plant to continue the natural look with some perennials to brighten the area?

You're wise in trying to keep the natural look because native plants usually grow where conditions for them are best. There are a few annuals that will give bright color under the conditions you describe; Impatiens, Begonias, Cyclamen, Forget-Me-Not,and pansies. Some perennials include: Primrose, Campanula, Clivia and Lamium.
