Hello,
I live in the NW part of Bakersfield. I want to plant a Pineapple Guava and I'm not sure what species to buy. Would you recommend 'Nazemeta', 'Pineapple Gem', or, 'Trask'? Also, will planting only one tree assure pollination, or should I plant two?

'Nazemetz' and 'Trask' are self-fruitful, so if it's fruit you're after, choose one of these. Feijoa is a South American native and grows into a multi-stemmed plant about 18' tall and wide unless pruned back or killed back by frosts. It's a vigorous grower, so even if the top is completely wiped out by exceptionally cold weather, the roots will generate new stems. Enjoy your Pineapple Guava!
