I am in USDA Zone 5...I have a large bank I want to plant Junipers on that will only grow about 8 to 14 inches high and will stay green ALL year long. I see many I like but they turn gray or purple in the winter. Is there such a plant? The darker green the better! THANK YOU!! |
Some junipers react to cold weather by changing color, but they return to their standard green when spring arrives. Those that remain green throughout the year include Juniperus chinensis 'Parsonii' (1 1/2' high, 8' wide), 'San Jose' (2' high, 6' wide), and 'Emerald Sea' (1' high, 6' wide). Any of these are good choices for covering a bank. |
