Do you cut back hostas in the winter.

Hostas go dormant during the winter months and the foliage is generally killed back by frost. If your garden doesn't usually experience a winter frost, the foliage will still die down by mid-winter and should be cut off at soil level. New foliage will emerge in the spring.
