The Q&A Archives: Mexican Heather

Question: Can you tell me if the Mexican Heather dies off in the winter and comes back in spring or is my just dead?!!

Answer: Sadly, I think it is probably dead given the cold weather we have had. Mexican Heather (also called False Heather) or Cuphea Hyssopifola is grown as annual in cold winter areas; it will not tolerate temperatures much colder than about 20 degrees.
