The Q&A Archives: Wintering Geraniums Under Grow Lights

Question: Will my geraniums bloom if I have them under the growing lights 24 hours a day throughout the winter months?

Answer: Geraniums will grow and bloom indoors when given adequate light, but leaving the lights on 24 hours a day will harm your plants. They need to rest each night after a full day of growing. To keep your geraniums healthy, leave the lights on for 12-14 hours each day and turn them off at night.
