My Phalaenopsis orchid had grown a new stem and it had about 4 buds on it when I accidently broke the stem when moving the plant. Will I have to wait another year to get blooms? Or since it never bloomed this year, will it send up another stem? |
That's a good question! The energy it took your plant to produce a flowering stem may well have depleted its reserves of stored carbohydrates. On the other hand, since it didn't actually produce flowers, it may have enough energy to develop another flower stem. Continue to give your plant TLC and it may surprise you by producing a second flowering stem. Hope so! |
