| Maple trees enjoy the companionship of understory and neighboring trees. The site you describe should be fine. To get your new maple off to a healthy start, clear the understory for a few feet around the trunk and be sure to water your new maple regularly while it's becoming established. If you plant now, you'll need to water all season until the fall rains take over. Enjoy your new maple! |
