I have a small side yard that is large enough for three medium size trees. Looking for suggestions for tropical trees with max height of 30' and shallow root system that won't interfere with sprinkler system. My wife and I love the Ginko tree, but it might eventually get too big. Thanks for your help. - Matt McGraw

Some recommendations for that tropical look include Aralia, Bauhinia (orchid tree), Chorisia (floss silk tree), Dicksonia (tree fern), Erythrina (coral tree), Firmiana simplex (Chinese parasol tree), Musa (banana tree), and Tabebula (trumpet tree). There are a number of small palms that you might also consider. Enjoy your outdoor paradise!
