I have Equisetum hyemale in a window panel in a clay pot. I've had it for almost 9 months now, and it is gradually drying, but still green at the end. I give enough water and sun to it. Can somebody guide me? |
Horsetail is generally a rampant grower, but if yours is indoors, perhaps the conditions aren't quite what it needs. True, it needs sunshine, but if it's sitting on a windowsill, the sun might be too intense because of reflection and magnification through the glass. Air next to a window tends to be dry and stagnant, as well. To revive your horsetail, try taking it outdoors for the spring and summer months where it can experience fresh air and dappled afternoon sunshine. It's quite adapted to growing in moist, boggy areas, so it's not likely you're overwatering it - be sure to continue to keep the soil moist at all times. Good luck with your Equisetum! |
