Verbena can be either annual or perennial. The annual type will grow, flower and set seed, then die. It's best propagated by seeds. Perennial verbena can be started by tip cuttings or root division, or by allowing it to self-sow the seeds it develops throughout the growing season. Hope this answers your question!
