Hi there,
I have a high wall which I want to plant some hanging plants on. My issue is I would like to plant something in the backgrtound a little taller. Any ferns, flowers, or maybe high groundcover? I only have shallow beds to work with.W hat could I use in that sunny/shade area that would not need much soil? Thanking you for your help.

Plants that will do well in shallow soils include Erica (heather), Beargrass (Xerophyllum tenax), Ajuga (carpet bugle), Hypericum (St. John's Wort), Lily Turf (Lirope), Lavender, Phlox subulata (moss-pink), Arenaria (sandwort), and Armeria (thrift). Any of these selections will produce seasonal bloom and all are fairly easy to grow. Good luck with your project!
