I planted a yellow Magnolia last spring. It had flower bud at the time but was hit by frost and didn't bloom. This year it is growing and healthy but didn't set blooms. Why? What can I do to assure flowers Next spring? Thank you for your time. |
When you purchased your magnolia, it had been growing under ideal nursery conditions. Sounds as though frost killed the flower buds it had developed at the nursery. The following growing season your magnolia concentrated on becoming established in your garden. This summer it should have recovered enough to develop flower buds for bloom next spring. I suspect that by the time it finally blooms for you you'll really enjoy the flowers! Good luck with your landscape! |
