I looking for a type of tree(s) that I can plant to provide a windbreak and a privacy screen in my backyard. The tree must be evergreen, fast growing, easy care, able to windstand winds during the Santa Ana wind season. The tree must have dense foilage to provide privacy and have a root system that is friendly to block walls. The tree(s)will be planted next to the walls of my yard.

Thanks for your help.

Some of the more popular screening trees include Thuja (American Arborvitae), an evergreen with dense, pyramidal growth, Prunus lusitanic (a broadleaf evergreen), Carissa (natal plum), and Myrtus (myrtle). Good luck with your new privacy screen!
