An attractive and reliable street tree for your growing region is Liquidambar (sweet gum). The trees have a strong horizontal branching pattern and the maple-like leaves will provide filtered shade. As a bonus, the foliage of the Liqudambar turns red, orange, yellow and burgandy during the autumn.
