I noticed a tree here in California that looks like an olive tree. It has small orange flowers. Another has small, round, fuzzy purple flowers. It's about 15-20 FT. tall and 8-10 FT around. I have asked around but they didn't know. Can you tell me what you think it might be? Thank you, Don.

Sounds like a member of the Eucalyptus family. E. sideroxylon (also called ironbark) produces fluffy crimson flowers in the late spring; E. ficifolia (red-cap gum) produces orange flowers. Many eucalyptus trees have long, narrow leaves similar in shape and color to olive trees.
