Our nursery states that one should use some kind of filtered water, not ordinary tap water, for Shaina maples. Is that correct, and if so precisely what kind of water should be used? |
Japanese maples are sensitive to too much afternoon sunshine, but this is the first I've heard of a sensitivity to tap water. If your water is safe to drink, it's safe for your maple. As moisture trickles down through the soil particles it will go through a natural filtering process before it reaches the roots of your tree. Go ahead and use tap water to water your maple. |
