| My coreopsis started out fine, but now the buds dry out and won't flower. It is not a problem of water. Is there anything I can do for them? |
| Coreopsis is usually such a carefree plant that I can't imagine why yours isn't blooming. They prefer rich, well drained soil with a pH of 5.5 to 7.0, but they're quite adaptable. They bloom best in full sunshine; about the only thing that will decrease flowering is over-fertilizing. Perhaps you've been feeding too much? At this point I'd cut back the flower stems to encourage new growth and (hopefully) new flower buds. Best wishes with your coreopsis! |
