We heard that adding iron to the soil will make our Fat Albert Blue Spruce more blue. Is this so or is there something else that we can add to the soil to do this?

The blue hue comes from a waxy coating on the needles of your spruce. The best way to keep the blue color is to avoid using oil-based insecticides (which dissolve the waxy coating). Other than planting in full sunshine and periodically hosing dust off your spruce, there's really nothing you can do to make it appear bluer. Adding iron won't necessarily help your plant - unless your soil is deficient in iron. Best wishes with your Fat Albert!
