Replacing a driveway with turfstone which allows you to grow grass within the paverstone. What type of grass/seeds should be installed in southern California (9-11) zones that can be hardy enough to drive on? Thank You.

Since the paver stones will prevent soil compaction in the root area, most any type of grass will grow in the pockets. Those that perform best in your region include blue grama (Bouteloua gracilis) which tolerates drought and loves heat and sunshine, and Buffalo grass (Buchloe dactyloides). This one is sold as sod or plugs (as well as seeds) which means you can get a head start on establishing your turfstone before cold weather arrives. Best wishes with your landscape!
