The Q&A Archives: Browning In Center Of Emerald Green Arbor Vita's

Question: We have 3 emerald green arbor vita and they are browning in the center can you tell us what we might do.

Answer: Arborvitae naturally turn brown toward the center each fall, so I think what you are seeing is probably normal. If it seems excessive or is on the outside part of the shrub, you might take a photo or two and consult with your local professional nursery staff to be sure.
