Chamaedora is one of the cane palms and makes quite an attractive indoor plant. The secrets to success with indoor palms is to provide average household warmth during the day, reducing the temperature by 10 degrees at night; give indirect light (palms will adapt to either bright or low light); keep the potting soil slightly moist during the winter months and then water more liberally in the spring and summer; mist the leaves if the room is heated; avoid drafts from windows, doors, air conditioning ducts and heater ducts.

Following these simple rules will result in a happy, healthy palm.
